For many cycling fans there is a joke that some people “only watch cycling in July”. Although there is cycling almost 12 months a year now its the Tour de France that is top of mind for most folks.

With that in mind you’ll likely see plenty of folks out riding around during the month of July. Some folks obviously used to ride alot in the past and you can tell by their riding style. The look very comfortable on their bikes. Usually the other thing that highlights the fact that they used to ride is that they are sporting some very nice looking retro cycling jersey. Now the problem is that in some cases the riders physical fitness level does not match the level that they had when they first bought their cycling clothing. Really old cycling jerseys do not hide much since they do not stretch very well.

Now if you are a more casual cycling fan one way to show your love for cycling in July is to sport some styling Cycling Cap. The pros still use them even in the modern day. On the hot days they usually do not sport them but when its colder they wear them under their cycling helmet.

Besides finishing off the hockey season the warmer summer like weather means that its time to dust off the old bicycle and start hitting the bike trails around. Well besides all the Bixi bikes that have appeared on the cycling paths around Toronto and Montreal one of the biggest trends in the cycle world are all those fixie bikes. The choice of the hipster crew around most town is a nice single speed bicycle. But you can spot the true hipster cyclist when you spot them sporting some vintage cycling jersey. In some cities its pretty easy to find some nice looking classic style jerseys by visiting some of the second hand clothing stores. Some in the Toronto area have a pretty big selection. If you end up on the hunt for a jersey the two best choices would be a classic Eddy Merckx Molteni cycling jersey or if you want to represent some old school Euro flavor find a nice looking vintage Italian cycling jersey that features some of the bigger brands like Campy or Cinelli.

You’ve likely seen a few folks hitting the yoga studio in a quest to get in shape for the new year. I have even heard about something called hot yoga were ou sweat like a dog in the middle of July which really does not sound to appealing. So in the quest to get fit for the new year I decided to hit it old school style. George Forman might be making millions with his grills but it was all that time in the ring that made him a household name. So I have decided to get boxing fit.

Problem with boxing is that you need to get some good boxing gear before you head out to the gym. In the past lots of people might have been tempted just to head over to the local Canadian Tire and grab some gear. But with all the online options available to people you can easily get some good boxing gear from Canadian Boxing equipment companies that sell online. The list of things that you need does add up but once you get the gear its usually lasts for a long time if you bought the right stuff. Some things like boxing hand wraps and boxing shoes need to get replaced over time but the shorts and gloves can last for a long time if you spend some money and get some good stuff.

Well its hitting in full affect right about now. The holiday season is fast approaching and its time to fight through the crowds and consume goods at inflated prices. But maybe not this year. maybe its time to keep the postman employed and buy online.

I’ve been shopping around for a certain gift for a certain someone who has started up a scrapbook thing. I’ll call it a thing because I really do not understand it. But this hobby apparently is big business for some folks because the retail world is filled with this stuff. Online people have really taken to it with tons of scrapbooking blogs. One item that many folks use are these Cricut machines that help you design. The thing is they use these cricut cartridges that have different uses. There are hundreds of differnet styles of these things. I’ve found tons of them online and the pricing is crazy. If you need to buy one for a gift find a font cricut cartridge online for a decent price and buy that. Lots of potential use.
